This owl has been a month in the making! Set against an opaque enameled backdrop, I was hoping to emulate mother of pearl inlay work in glass and metal.
Each owl was painstakingly painted in multiple layers of fine silver foil, pigment, and clear enamel. The frames were fabricated in sterling silver and hand sculpted carved precious metal clay floral elements featuring a sparkly faceted black spinel.
