A swallow soaring over an illuminated darkened sky, a beacon of hope and renewal.
The enameled backdrop features textured copper that was painted with a black underglaze. The metal is then encapsulated in several layers of transparent enamel and fired multiple times.
The bird was made with a vintage jewelry die and is attached with two brass micro bolts and screws (the screws are sealed with jewelry grade epoxy resin) and set in a sterling silver prong frame setting.
